Obituary
Frank Jorgenson was born on September 23, 1932 to Henry and Virgie Jorgenson in Bellingham. He had 3 sisters, Marybel, Pearl and Doris. He also had a brother Victor. He grew up in Whatcom county and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1950. He joined the Army and went off to Korea in 1952. When he returned, he went to work for the Washington State Highway Department. Sometime around this period he had the privilege of meeting Patricia Lutz, whom he married on April 27, 1957. He moved to Seattle in 1959 to work on I-5 and the Tukwila interchange. In 1961 he moved into the house that he stayed in for the rest of his life. He retired from the Highway Department in 1982 and then went to work for King County and MA Segale during the summers. He helped raise three children; Andrea, Jeff and Eric. He also had two grandchildren; Danielle and Cody. During his life he had many personal interests. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, camper and card shark. He loved to work in the yard and around the house. He enjoyed golfing, boxing, and BBQing with family and friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, the way he told stories and jokes, and his handyman attitude.
All in all, Frank was a wonderful man who touched the lives of all he met. He will be greatly missed by all.
Our thoughts are with the entire Jorgenson family for their loss.
Frank is my “adoptive” Uncle, his sister and brother in law Doris & Darrell “took me in” when I was in need. I met Frank, Pat and their family at the family reunion. I will always remember his easy going spirit and ability to make people laugh. I am sorry that I didn’t get the opportunity to get to know him better. Pat and family, I pray that God and the Angels bring you peace and comfort swiftly, knowing that Frank is in heaven keeping everyone there smiling.
Frank had such a voice and a presence. I called him “Uncle” even though he was really a step-uncle. One of my favorite memories was during the time he would come over to check on our family while Dad was in Viet Nam. He and grandpa brought over a huge salmon that was good, except that since it was so big we had to eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner for weeks! That fish was longer than my sister and I were tall. He’d also tease Grandpa by calling him “Shorty” and kiss the top of his head to prove the point. They would smoke cigars and play cards late into the night. He’d also tease my Mom by asking if she took her “ugly pill” that day; she’d ask him if he’d had his! I hope his family finds comfort through this difficult time. Uncle Frank will be missed by many.
I remember all the great times we had growing up there in our Bellingham neighborhood. In addition, the great times and fun we had when I was stationed in the Navy in San Diego and would spend the weekends on your Army base in San Pedro. It was an honor to have you as an usher when Carol and I got married. I’ll always remember the close ties I had with you, Jon, and Marv in our teen-age years and beyond.
This I share for two Step brother and sister Lanny&Sally,What a great day when we got Frank as our big brother. He came home from Korea and shared our life. He was soooo fun always a reat concern for each of out life as our father. Frank gave so much and I will miss him. I have all memeries of Frank so close in my heart ,i know his family will have a void but soooo many good times to call back in their moment our heart goes out to pat and their children, I pray for peace in your heart of this great sorrow of father and husband love Lanny Sally & John With family
My family were neighbors and friends of the Jorgensons for many years until my parents moved away in the late 80’s. My parents even shared the same wedding anniversary with Pat and Frank. I remember many New Years Eves that we would get together, my dad Harry would play the guitar and Frank would play the harmonica. I can also recall a time that Frank hunted an elk, and my dad came over to “cut it up”, since he was a chef. I was just a kid then and it was really yucky!…Lots of memories with all of the Jorgenson clan. Frank… you will we greatly missed!
Frank is my brother-in-law — the only one I will ever have. He has been a special friend and person in my life for all the years he has been in the Lutz family. But the years go by and his time has come. I will miss his hugs and his laugh, his smiling, twinkling eyes, his teasing and joking. He is greatly loved.
