Obituary
Frank Peter Pawlak, age 79, born in Chicago, IL July 12, 1925, died peacefully at home in Tacoma on September 10, 2004. Upon graduating from Schurz High School in 1943, he served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He then attended and graduated from Purdue University in 1950 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Frank met and then married Helen Venis on May 5, 1951. He was a Civil Engineer for the Milwaukee Railroad for 35 years, mostly in the Midwest, retired in 1985 and settled in Tacoma, WA where he and Helen built their retirement home. He loved gardening, woodworking, playing cards and grilling out with family.
Frank is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen; daughter, Nancy Walls Joe; six sons, Mike Linda, Tim Tamy, Peter Robin, Pat, Tom Kim and Dan Kim Pawlak; 28 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Frances Pawlak and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will start at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, 09/14/04 with Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM at BONNEY-WATSON Federal Way, 1535 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way, WA 253 839-7317. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 09/15/04 at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 30525 – 8th Avenue S., Federal Way, WA. Interment Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery.
