Obituary

Frank Tony Scarsella

Frank Tony Scarsella passed away unexpectedly at home, at age 63, on the morning of December 18, 2014.

The oldest son of Italian immigrants Tony and Palmira, Frank grew up in Burien, WA and graduated from Highline High School. He earned a Business Administration degree from Central Washington University. Before and after graduation, Frank worked with his father, Tony, one of the two founding partners of Scarsella Bros., Inc., a privately held heavy highway and civil construction company. His father passed along the core principals of the company – work hard, treat people fairly, and stand behind your word. Frank led the company, beginning in 1997, holding the 70 year old company to high standards with a deep sense of fairness and responsibility.

Frank and his four younger brothers worked together as the second generation. Scarsella Bros. currently operates in six western states, performing highway, levee, reservoir, and railroad projects. They are especially proud to have worked at SeaTac Airport many times over the years, including as part of the joint venture responsible for the construction of the 3rd runway.

His family’s company and his immigrant heritage brought Frank a tremendous sense of pride. Above all, Frank loved his wife and children, always putting their needs before his own. Frank and his wife were almost finished building a new home, a place that he looked forward to using for family gatherings. He always made sure to mention that the home was not for him, but for his family. He is a beloved husband, father, and brother and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Frank is survived by his wife, Kim, of 31 years, three children Nick (Sara), Maleena (Kyle), and Matthew, brothers Don, Bob, Gino, and Rick, and many nieces and nephews.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6 PM, Friday, December 26th and a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 27th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Burien. All are welcome to attend. Visitations will be held one hour prior to both services.
