Obituary

Fred ‘Papa’ Bonge passed away February 12, 2008. He was born April 3, 1923 in
Battle Ground, Washington to Agustus and Mary Bonge. A World War II Veteran, Fred
served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 before becoming a Business Agent for
Seattle’s Local 174 and retiring in 1983. Skilled in woodworking and craftsmanship,
Fred built two homes in the Seattle area in which he and his family lived; one of which
later served as a home for his daughter, as well as each of his grandchildren and their
respective families. He enjoyed building furniture, hunting, fishing and traveling and
was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Doris in 2004. He is survived by
daughter, Konnie Robert McConnell; grandchildren: Todd Paige Hacke and Tricia
Jon McGuire; great-grandchildren: Jonny McGuire, T.C. Hacke, and Jared McGuire, all
of Seattle; sister, Harriet of Covington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11:00 am at
Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 16445 International Blvd., Seatac, WA. A
reception will follow at Washington Memorial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highline Cancer Research Center, 16233
Sylvester Road SW, Burien, WA 98166.

I hope that you know the impact you have had on myself and my family. You are not only my Papa, but my father as well. You will be missed but NEVER forgotten!! We love you!

Pops,it was an honor to have been able to be part of your life. you will never be forgotten because your family will carry on your legacy, and when they speak of you will be with pride and admiration.
