Obituary
Fred Dean will be missed because he was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He enjoyed sharing his love of track and skiing with many. He also loved fast cars and any car with Fred behind the wheel was a Fast Car.

Fred graduated from Franklin High School in 1970. He had many passions, from skiing to coaching youth track with the SCAA team, to being a contributing member of his community via board memberships. When I was struggling in life Fred had an amazing presence and strength to let me know I would overcome my obstacles, and I did. I’ll miss you my friend.
My sincere sympathy to your family. I shall truly miss seeing your smiling face and gentleman manners.
Love,
Your Aunt Rosetta I Alston
You will be missed, my son. I know you and your father have reunited.
We love you and weep with you in Fred’s passing.
My deepest sympathies on your loss. Fred was a wonderful mentor and friend. He will be missed, but I’m thankful for the many great memories I have of him.
Dear Josie, Courtney and Asha,
I miss your husband and father so much. He did so much for our kids and was an inspiration for me, showing me how a person can give back to his community. How many thousands of kids that did he teach and encourage to run, jump and throw? How many of them found direction in their life as a result of SCAA? How many bonds did they form by being included in the SCAA family?
Dear Fred,
God Bless you and keep you, my friend. Please keep us comforted and safe with your big angel wings. May all the roads in Heaven have no speed limit.
All our love,
John, Carmen, Peter and Giselle Rizzardi
We are so sorry to hear of your profound loss. Fred was always a part of the carpools, parties and events we experienced with Courtney and the Lakeside community. We always knew Fred would be involved in some way and always with a smile on his face. It seems every conversation we had with Fred always included lots of laughter. Courtney, you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
We’ll miss those green eyes that brought such confidence and concern every second you would stare. Such a great friend and role model to our family and community. Coach Dean, We’ll always love you.
Dear Josie:
When Fred walked in a room his smile and demeanor would prevail. His easy manner won over many and Fred would end up as a life time friend to most. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many who would call him a friend. Fred was a hard working professional who had immediate direct influence on those around him. In mentoring those entering the accounting profession, I have used Fred as a standard in hard work, dedication, loyalty and clear thinking. I think of Fred often and known that there is a special place in heaven reserved for him.

Dear Josie, Courtney, Asha, Aunt Edna, Gregory, Barbara, Tony, and Dalwynn,
Words cannot express the deep sorrow and grief I feel at this time, as I am sure you feel.
Our Prince has been taken from us, our hero, our crown jewel…
I have nothing but the fondest memories of him, and I am so proud of all he accomplished in his life. He embraced the ‘legacy’ of this family, and sought to preserve it. He gave back everything that was given to him! What a wonderful human being!!
I will never forget him; I will always love him!
Your cousin,
Brian Moreley
This feels like losing a brother. I remember Fred bringing Asha and Courtney to Mama and Papa Wards for the day. It was great in the summer because dad would fire up the grill and Fred would always stay long enough to eat when picking up the girls.
I don’t know if he really knew how much I appreciated his friendship. Because of Fred, I really believed that there were still men out there who could love one woman for life. I will miss him.
Josie, please know that I will always be here for you and the girls. I want to thank you and Fred for sharing them with me. It is the closet I will ever get to being a mom.
To the entire Dean family – I am truly saddened to hear of your loss of Fred; husband, father, brother, and son. May your faith in the Lord and His promise of life everlasting give you peace and comfort.
My deepest sympathies go out to the family of Fred. Fred and I go back to college days at UW where friends of Fred would always mistake me for being him or being related to him. For some reason, people thought that we looked similar. We would later joke about it. Fred and I joined the same fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha and became fraternity brothers. Although, I didn’t get to know a lot about him personally, I always admired his professionalism and his devotion to family and his dedication to younger kids throught the SCAA program, which my kids participated in. On behalf of my family, we offer the Dean family our deepest sympathy. May god be with you doing this difficult time.
Fred was one of the dearest friends I have ever known. I will keep fond memories of him close to my heart and always be grateful that he touched my life. My prayers go out to you, Josie and the girls for your loss.
