Dear Roger and family

I was saddened to learn of the passing of your lovely mother and my lovely Aunt Gail.

We all know she is now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I was not around her much, except as a small boy. My life took another route.

I was an avid reader even in those early years. If I could find a book about horses, or cattle, or dogs no cats I would read them, many tiumes over if I could. I will never forget the Christmas of 1942-1943. Uncle Chuck and Aunt Gail presented me with Lassie Come Home. It was one of the first things that was mine, not based on need, like clothing. I remember reading it until the pages fell out of the book. Thanks again Uncle Chuck and Aunt Gail, I was one thrilled little kid.

Thank you also, Gail, from Susan, who remembers you from the birthday for Uncle Byron. You greeted me, welcomed me into Gene’s family, were very kind.

If you folks are over this way, please stop in to see us. We are on the top of an old mountain, in a house with wings, in the middle of wheat fields, watching the horses graze and the clouds pass over. This morning we had a skiff of frost.

Love surround you, light your path, keep you safe
