Notable interests, activities, hobbies, or passions: Gary was a warm hearted, softspoken,
fun-loving friend to everyone who was fortunate enough to have him pass
through their lives. Never a harsh tone entered his voice, never an unkind word
spoken, never a hint of judgement towards another soul. “Good-time Gary”, as some
of coworkers will remember him as, was always quick to smile and share in the
laughter. His calm and kind presence brought warmth and joy wherever he went.
Making friends was and helping others was his gift and he did it selflessly and
effortlessly, leading by example and mentoring through his actions…silently setting
the standards by which a good person should live.
His likeness and legacy will live on through those around him who felt the uplifting
impact of his wake.
Memorable moments and achievements: Gary loved taking family vacations. Hawaii,
Disneyland, Ocean Shores, Oregon Coast…anywhere the family could enjoy wonderful
sights and share good memories together.
Scenic drives on country roads, enjoying the majestic splendor of the Pacific
Northwest were always on the itinerary when Gary was behind the wheel.
Taking Tanya, Tad & Natalie to ski lessons every Sunday after church was a wonderful
childhood winter tradition that lasted for many years.
Taking his grandchildren on a private vacation every summer was another
memorable tradition.
Another one of Gary’s pastimes was fishing the local watering holes. Wherever the
fish were biting, Gary was ready to cast his line and soak his bait.
Without question, attending his children’s sporting events was always one of Gary’s
favorite things to do.
