Genella Tatum
March 1, 1947 - July 29, 2006
Obituary
Our beloved, Genella Tatum, was born on March 1, 1947 to the union of Walter L. Williams and Annie R. Williams in Mississippi. She was lifted up for her eternal journey on Saturday, July 29th. In June 2005 she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Scottie Tatum, who passed on to eternity.
There will a celebration on August 5th for Genella Tatum with her extended family of relatives, friends and just folks from the community who knew Genella. Genella is a big Tyler Perry fan so we will be gathered on that day because we need to have a good, old-fashioned “family reunion” to honor the life and times of Genella.
Genella Tatum is survived by her Mother, Annie R. Williams, Son Gale Tatum, Sister, Cathy Williams, sister Maggie James and her husband Roosevelt, a brother Willie Williams all of Seattle, WA., and Nephews Shane Anderson, Darl Roscoe in Atlanta, GA, Jonathan Wiliams in Los Angeles, CA, Nieces Maisha Williams in Atlanta, GA, Brandi Williams in Los Angeles, CA, a grand-nephew Ade Williams, a host of cousins, friends and extended family in Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis and Mississippi who join in this celebration of life and living on eternity.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 12pm-8pm and Friday 9-8pm at Bonney Watson Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on August 5, 2006 at 11:00 at Bonney Watson Funeral Home in Seattle Washington. In lieu of flowers the family requests all donations to be sent to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research in Genella’s Memory.
Gale,
My condolences for the loss of your mother. You are in my prayers. The bible promises that soon there will be no more sorrow, no more mourning Rev 21:3,4.
