Obituary
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our precious father, George Clarence Wipperfurth. He was 90 years old and passed peacefully on January 1, 2024 in his home in Des Moines, WA. George was born on October 19, 1933 in Portage, WI to Matthias Wipperfurth and Blanche (Mills) Wipperfurth.
George had a full life. He loved his family, especially getting together and taking in all of the craziness, visiting with his family from out-of-state, playing games, especially his solitaire, and trips to the family property at Dewatto Bay. George always made everyone feel welcome and wanted to be a part of the action. He was dedicated to the church and enjoyed being a part of the church community, especially singing in the church choir. He wanted to make sure people were happy, and they were when they were around him!
He is survived by his devoted family, daughters, Janet (Dave) Jenness, Patricia (Mike) Prosser and Kathleen (Dan Conrady) Wipperfurth; grandfather of Phillip (Hannah) Jenness, Jayme (Kyle) Sroka, Hayden (Addy) Prosser, Emilia Prosser, Daniel Wipperfurth and David Conrady; four great grandchildren, Forest, Kruz, Lucian and Drake; his sister Mary (Ray) Bula; brother Mark (Nancy) Wipperfurth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Emma (Kopasis) Wipperfurth; and sisters Kathleen (Wipperfurth) Hoffman; and Rosella (Wipperfurth) Van Hollen.
A viewing will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Bonney Watson, Washington Memorial, 16445 International Boulevard, SeaTac, WA, and is open to those who knew George. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 15266 – 21st Ave. S.W., Burien, WA. A reception will follow the service, at the church, for all to attend. A private family graveside service will be held later at Gethsemane Cemetery in Federal Way, WA where he will be interned beside his wife Emma.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to any foundation for the cure or research of Dementia or Alzheimer.
Dad, you were always there for me, what will I do now without our visits?? But, you are where you should be now, with mom, who has been waiting so patiently for you. Give her a big hug and kiss from us girls. You leave a huge hole in our family and lives and we will miss you greatly. But, you are forever in our hearts and never out of our thoughts. Your loving daughter, Pat (Trish)
Dear George,
Thank you for leaving such a legacy…..of loving, caring daughters who, in turn, have continued your legacy by raising your loving caring grandchildren and great grandchildren. I will never be at Dewatto and not think of you. Thank you for always making me feel welcome. Your work here on earthy matters is done. Good work!! Now its time to be with your true love, Em. Here’s to the rest of your journey. May it be peaceful and full of love. Just as you deserve.
