GEORGE J. FREELUND
Born September 12, 1930. Died April 9, 2007. Survived by wife Donna, five children, Mike Julie, Mark, Marty Vicki, Mary Greg, and Monica Martyn; three step-children, Natalie Chuck, Andrea Carl, and Bob; grandchildren, Scott, Anna, Jeffrey, Noah, Stori, Tory, Shawn, Bailey, Willie, Bonnie, Amy, and Wyatt; brother, Ed Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews and a special loving relationship with Finnish relatives.
Past owner of Northwest Metal Spinning; Honor Guard Commander and Past 1st Vice Commander and lifetime member of American Legion # 15, Kent. Also life member of Renton Post Veterans of Foreign Wars. Past President of Puget Sound Senior Golfers, Past Member of Alaska Professional Hunters’ Association. Member of 2nd Infantry Division Association Korean War Branch. Member of Swedish Finnish Historical Society. Past coach of Little League, Pony League, Colt League, and CYO Baseball.
George loved spending time with family and friends; he loved to fish, hunt, golf, garden, and was a gifted wood worker and collector of everything imaginable.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 12th, 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 21st SW and 152nd SW, Burien. Private burial services at Tahoma National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis Funeral Ministry, American Legion Post 15 Honor Guard, Providence Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
My heartfelt sympathies to you and your entire family. May the thoughts and prayers of friends and loved ones lift you up and carry you through this sad time.
