I only saw Jerry for 10 minutes each week when he arrived for his security shift at the Olympus, but they were always 10 minutes I looked forward too.
Jerry was friendly, funny and a joy to shoot the breeze with. He will be missed.
I have known Jerry for over 40 years.
I am proud to call him a valued friend.
I will miss him greatly.
I worked with Jerry at Northwest Printers Supply and when I left I would still have breakfast with him once a week or so. I enjoyed his company. He was a good man.
I worked with Jerry as a co-worker at AM, and as a competitor when he was with Jerry Dryer. A great guy, and a man of God. To his family, your father truly was a friend to many. He will be missed.
We so appreciated Jerry’s good humor and desire for God in his life. He was such a blessing to us in the brief period we spent in Seattle. He will be greatly missed, however, our hearts rejoice that he is with our Lord and we will continue the fellowship later.
Dear Family: I just got to know Jerry this past year at McDonald’s having coffee with the Sunset Bowl gang. He would tease me about my casino experiences. He always wanted me to try Keno. He would go to great lengths to explain the odds. He was a very patient and loving man. He had a wonderful heart and listened well to all. He will be missed greatly.
Jerry was a wonderful husband, father,
grandfather and a grat friend. Our friendship started 20 years ago when he applied for a position at a company I managed, he was so pleasant and such
a gentleman that I hired him without calling any references and he was a
good salesman, with his gift of gab
and his hearty laugh. Jerry would bring his documents for me to prepare
Judy and Jerrys federal tax return. He loved his shop and made sure to bring all the information and always in a big shoe box, we always laughed. When he came to drop off the documents we
always went to lunch at ”Flapjacks” and when he came to pick up their return we would go to lunch again.
Jerry paid for one lunch and I paid for the other. I visited his shop several times, he had a lot of inventory and he knew the history of
each Armed Forces patch, medals and uniforms. He found a first world war
army uniform, hat and boots, my father was awarded the Silver Star in that war. The uniform was perfect in every way except it was for a short tiny guy and my dad was over 6 ft tall, there are many memories of visiting the ”Wooden Nickel”. Want to share what
went on at our house, the night I was reading his obituary in the newspaper
and the picture of him laughing was a
great memory. For no reason what so ever dishes started to move and made
a clank as they did so. My daughter Caren and I stopped as we knew it was Jerry saying goodbye. Thank God for that experience as it meant a lot to
both of us. Jerry was as they say ”the real thing” a honest and loyal man, a
man of god and now I know he is an angel in heaven and am sure he will
bring his laughter with him to the Lord. Ending with the name I often used
when sending an email to Jerry, ”Old
Buddy” was my name.
Sending love and caring to all of Jerry’s family.
Jerry was a dear friend of my mother’s for many years and he bacame one of mine as well! He is the kindest man I knew and the pride he had of his family & country was unbeatable! It made me sad that I didn’t have children as to the way he beamed when speaking of his children, grandchildren & wife! He, his lovely wife & children were so kind to my mother and I thank God we both were blessed to have him & them as our friends!
God bless you all, Caren
