Gladys Joassaint Belleroche was born on May 4th, 1968 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to parents Jerome Belleroche and Robmise Bellerise, who instilled in her a deep sense of love, unity, family and community. As one of four children, Micheline Adolphe, Esther Adolphe and Gabrielle Adolphe, Gladys grew up in a home where the doors where always open. Her parents welcomed those in need with open arms, transforming friends into extended family.

In 1994, Gladys married the love of her life, Getro Joassaint. Together they journeyed to the United States for the pursuit of greater opportunities for their growing family. Throughout her life Gladys balanced multiple roles – she was a business owner, a housekeeper, and a professional caregiver. Yet, her most cherished roles were being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her home was often filled with the aromas of her cooking, the joyful laughter of her grandchildren, and the uplifting sound of worship music as she praised her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

For years Gladys faced health challenges with unwavering courage and resilience inspiring everyone who knew her. She often lifted others in moments of doubt and reminded them, “If I can fight, then you can fight,” becoming a source of hope and encouragement wherever she went.

Three words that define Gladys’s legacy are: strong, caring, and faithful. Her strength carried her through life’s trials; her care embraced all who knew her; and her faith remained  her constant anchor through it all.
