Gloria Boyce
August 6, 1923 - May 9, 2010
Obituary
Gloria’s high spirited life came to an end at home on the morning of May 9th, 2010. She was born on Aug 6th 1923 to Giovanni and Margarita Agnese, the younger of their two daughters, Elena and Gloria. She attended Beacon Hill Elementary School and graduated Franklin High School in 1941. She and Tully Boyce married in 1942 and made their home in Rainier Valley. In 1986 she moved to Kirkland to be closer to her daughters.
From childhood through her final years her life centered around what was most important to her; family, friends, church, athletics, and the Italian culture. For years she dedicated time and energy to volunteer work at St Edward’s Church and her community. She was an inspiration and a role model to many.
Surviving Gloria are her daughters Gloria Ann Les and Janet, her grandchildren Jody Matt, Jamie and Dominic Jacqui and her great grandson, Anthony.
I met your mother at Wayne Golf Course, and we soon realized that we had similar backgrounds; Italian, PE teachers,Italian, food, Italian, and lots of Italian words mixed in with our joking around. Our golf games were not great, but we had a fun time trying. She was a great sport.
I was sorry to miss her celebration of life as I was out of town. Just wanted you to know that she will be in my prayers, and that she will be remembered by many of us.

Mrs. Boyce! I can’t remember the thousands of times her name was called, or used in conversations among my two sons. It was always with deep respect and admiration, and that is how she will forever be remembered by them. She was so commited to giving of herself and guiding the students of St. Edwards School. Her voice and laughter will always be there for us. God Bless.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jamie and her family. We never met “noni” but heard some incredible stories about an amazing woman!
Janet and Family – Pat and I are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. May the bond you two shared bring you comfort in the difficult moments. All our love! Joani and Pat
Gloria and Janet and family, Aunt Gog was in a class of her own, just to think of her warms my heart and brings a smile to my face. Her voice and laugh are vivid in my memory. Take comfort in all your wonderful memories of her and the fact that you were the most wonderful daughters any mother could have. She was truly loved. Your cousin Ann
My most sincere condolences to all the family. I always called your Mom, Mrs. Boyce but she was only 7 yrs older than me. Your Mom raised a wonderful Gloria Ann who was the best baby sitter in the world. Gloria your name comes up frequently. Your Mom will aways be with you in spirit. With fond thoughts and Hugs, JO
Gloria and Janet,
I loved your mother. She was a fun and wonderful Aunt Gog to me. Our family has grand memories of our times together. My prayers will be with you both and with your families.
I love you.
Margaret
I was so sad to see that Gloria had passed away. She was such a dear friend of my mother Mary Grant. They shared so many laughs and amazing stories about their times at St. Edwards and were the back bone of the infamous “pickle ball” group. Gloria’s energy and humor will be missed by those outside her family whose lives she touched.
My deepest sympathy to you at the loss of your dear mother. She and I were in an excercise class at the Columbia Athletic Club in Kirkland. I always enjoyed her company and zest for life. Dorothy
Glorious Gloria! Will not forget the laughs and friendship shared on the Wayne Golf Course some years ago. Giggles at her near slips into the slough–missing her presence when the hills became too much of a challenge and she had to golf elswhere. Although we did not attend Franklin High during the same years,we always had some connections to share. All the joyful memories will remain with me, as I know they will stay forever with you, her family.
My sympathy and love to you all,
Bonnie Duncan Peters

I was saddened to hear of Gloria’s passing. I have so many fond and hillarious memories of Gloria while she was with us in the Wayne Ladies’ Golf Club. Our condolences to the family from all of the gals at Wayne.

Dear Glor and Janet! Wow,what a surprise. I tried to get a hold of you just because I had a feeling. I am so sorry that I did not get to say good bye! You both know how I loved your mom. She was a great friend and support to me. I was grateful that we still stayed in contact after I left Seattle. She will be dearly missed. I can’t wait to share memories.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Gloria Boyce.
MS. Boyce was my PE Teacher/Girl Scout Leader at St. Edwards School in the early 60’s.
She treated us with respect and we gave it right back to her.
Many blessings to her and her family.

Gloria and Janet,
I am thinking of you both. I know how hard it is to lose a mother. I was once told that as long as someone is loved and remembered that they truly never die.Words that have often comforted me.
I will always remember your mother’s sense of humor and how she could make us laugh and that was so many years ago.
With deep affection,
Jeff Wolcott
Gloria & Janet- I was so sorry to hear of your mom’s death. I remember her as the librarian, PE teacher & the mom of the best baby- sitter I we ever had! She was always smiling & seemed to really enjoy all of the students at St. Eds. Hugs to you and your families
Melissa and I loved having Gloria as our neighbor while we lived at Parkview East in Juanita. She was always smiling, energetic and encouraging to us in our new marriage. Seems just like yesterday and she truly was a wonderful and special lady. When I drive by Wayne Gold Course, I always think of Gloria. Those memories live on with us. She will be missed.
