Glorice Hayes Wilbert went home to the Lord, Thursday, September 2, 2004. she was born July 17, 1924 to the late Rubin and Minnie Hayes of Stamps, Arkansas.
She graduated from Dunbar High School in Little Rock Arkansas where she also attended Dunbar Junior college. She moved to Seattle, Washington making it her home where she retired from the Seattle School District as a Community Liaison. She was a member of First AME Church, numerous organizations: as the Dunbar Alumni Associations, United Ushers Association and the Women’s ILWU Local 19 Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by husband, Charlie Wilbert II, brother Alvin Hayes and Sister Valcine Phifer. She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter Janice Marie Sipes Sandles, sons, Lenard M. Sipes, Timothy D. Sipes, Charlie Wilbert III, two sisters, Doris Wood and husband Herbert Woods of California and Ruby Wilson of Connecticut; son-in-law, Ray Sandels, daughter-in-law, Coletta Sipes and Mikelyn Sipes, grandchildren Shawn and Andre Sipes, Nicole Sandles; two great granddaughters, nieces, nephew and one Aunt and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her
