Golda Harriett BITZAN

Golda was born October 26, 1910 in Hillsboro, WI. She died following a long illness January 18, 2006 in Burien, WA. She was a multi-talented woman, an extraordinary good cook, a great vegetable gardener and she grew many beautiful flowers which were entered in competitions and won many blue ribbons for her arrangements. Golda was in a quilting club and worked on may beautiful quilts through the years. She met her husband, Clarence Bitzan, at a barn dance in 1936. He asked her to marry him on her first date but she wanted to wait a while. They later married February 19, 1937 in Wisconsin. A daughter, Barbara was born in Minnesota in 1939, a son Thomas was born in 1941 and a son Joe was born in 1947. Clarence got a job in Colville teaching at the Indian reservation, Golda followed him with Barbara later. The family moved to Burien in 1943 and Clarence taught at Highline High School for many years. Golda and the family loved to fish. She was an excellent fisherwoman. She was member of Lake Burien Presbyterian Church. Golda was a loving mother who will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in 1992. She is survived by 3 her children; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial service 1:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church, 15003 – 14th Avenue SW. Both myself and my brother Peter Angelini would like to extend our sympathy on the loss of your mother. We will remember her Sunday afternoon visits with my mother and the grandmother. She was always there for us.
