Thinking of Grace, my step-mom, and her Washington Family. Grace was always good to me and we had a loving relationship. We had a good visit during the get together in June 2000 when my oldest son graduated from UofW. My heart goes out to her five sons and their families. Sorry I can not be there but my love will be.

My memories date back 50 years or so to a time when things were much easier. We played baseball in the streets, there were chickens running loose, many fruit trees to be raided and forts to be built and many long hikes to the beach. It was our time to be care free and to enjoy our youth. And one thing we had over other kids was that we had Grace looking over us. She always had some words of advice for us all. I was amazed at how well she controlled her 6 children. She was firm yet understanding when things needed correcting. She understood our mischievous little hooligan pranks and antics and in most cases allowed them to come and go. She knew that we would out grow our impish behavior in time but understood how important a good childhood was. I have since drifted from the Jorgensen family but think back quite often

of the times growing up and the lessons learned from a wonderful woman surly to be missed by all. My deepest sympathy to all of her children during this time of sadness.

She was such a great lady with a ready smile and always had positive encouragement. I remember her every time I make the zucchini bread recipe from MOM J. I feel that she is doing her gardening and baking again now that she has “gone home”. Love her and will miss her.

Mom,

We will miss you in the times to come. Although we didn’t see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, we still shared our love for each other. That will have to hold us untill we see you again. Love to you Allways

Our family enjoyed spending holiday celebrations with Grace at her sonGary & daughter-in-law’s Debbiehome. Her weekend trips to their home on the Hood Canal was spent playing scrabble, riding 4-wheelers, helicopter rides and fun places to eat. She always had that beautiful smile and the kindest of words for everyone in the room. I will miss her famous holiday cookies and her never ending joy of adventures. Grace was more than her name, it was how she lived, Gracefully.

I am glad we had the pleasure of knowing such a wonderful woman. God Bless. Lisa & Jim Monnerjahn
