Obituary
Hajime “Gabby” Hirata passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013. He was born on February 7, 1923 to Taikichi and Kikuye (Murasugi) Hirata, in Seattle, WA. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Michiko (Ishii), sisters-in-law Mary and Meriko Hirata, children Judy (Ron Ching), Ken (Debbe), Cathy (Robert Skinner), Ross (Debbie), 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his younger brothers Osamu and Satoshi Hirata.
Hajime served in the US Army occupational services during World War II and worked for 35 years for the Postal Service before he retired.
The biggest joy in Hajime’s life was his children and grandchildren.
The Hirata family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ilan Zawadzki, Dr. William Shaul, Butch Caparas and the fantastic crew at the DaVita Olympic View Dialysis Center. The compassion, grace and humor they combined with outstanding patient care is remembered with deepest appreciation.
