Harlow Jerome EVENSON Harlow was born Dec. 29, 1919 in Plaza, North Dakota. He graduated from University of North Dakota. He was an electronic engineer and first worked at Westinghouse in Pgh. where he met his future wife, Betty Griffin. They were married 60 years. He received a commission in the US Navy and went to Harvard and MIT Radar School. He served as radar officer on the USS Portland when they brought troops home from France. They returned to the family farm , taught at School of Forestry, and then went to grad school at U of Colorado. He was recruited by Boeing and worked in research for the next 35 years on Bomarc. Sram, and B-1. He is survived by wife, Betty; four children, Donald Phyllis Scottsdale, AZ., Carol Hart Greg Pasadena, Cal., Christine Pasadena, Ca. and David Beth Seattle; brother John Fran of Northfield, MN.; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many cousins. He was an active churchman at First Lutheran, West Seattle, and Prince of Peace Sea-Tac. He was a member of Gideons, Friend to Friend, and was active in Boy Scouting in both Seattle and Highline Districts. He enjoyed music and sang in many choirs. He will be missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Sea-Tac or charities of your choice. Service will be held Sat., Feb 3, 11:00 A.M. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 19030 – 8th Avenue, SW, SeaTac.
