Obituary
Harold Francis “Hal” Juvinall born March 6 1923, in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois, the son of David Henry Juvinall and Hattie May Kester.
He passed away on June 29, 2017 in Des Moines, Washington.
Hal was a member of “the Geatest Generation”, having lived through “The Great Depression”, and
fought against “The Axis of Evil” during World War ll.
Hal’s schooling was cut short after a year in High School, having to help his father deliver bricks
in a semi-truck and trailer all around the midwest for Western Brick Co.
Hal enlisted in the Army Feb 3 1943 as a Warrant Officer, served in Scotland, France, and Germany and was discharged in 1945.
On July 12, 1947 he married Edna Mae Clarkston, who had served in the Women’s Army Corps during the war.
After his marriage, Hal, along with his uncle, constructed a house on Sheridan Street in Danville, Illinois
that he and his family would live in for 14 years. They then moved to Monterey Ct in Danville in 1963 until they moved to Federal Way, Wa in 1984 after the birth of their Granddaughter.
Most of Hal’s employment during his life was as an auto mechanic. He worked for Illinois Power Co. for forty years, ultimately as foreman of crews that maintained utility trucks.
Hal was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather. After retirement, Hal and Mae moved to Washington State to be near his son Timothy and his family, and to be closer to his son Thomas and his family.
After Edna Mae passed, on March 11, 2006, Hal lived in Hawaii for a year, with his son Thomas and family.
Hal is survived by 2 sons and their families. Timothy Dean of Des Moines, Washington, his wife Diane and daughter Lisa and her husband Chris Ellsworth; and
Thomas Dwayne of Mililani, Hawaii, his wife Lynn and their son Justin.
He is also survived by brothers, Phillip and Ron. He was predeceased by his parents, six sisters and 2 brothers.
Harold Francis Juvinall will be laid to rest on Monday, July 10, 2017.
A viewing will be 10-11 AM on Monday July 10th, 2017 at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home, Federal Way, Washington, followed by a graveside service at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington: “where heroes rest”.
He will remain forever above his wife, Edna Mae, to whom he was devoted; and we will cherish his memory in our hearts.
I’m sorry to hear of Hal’s passing. I remember his smiling greeting whenever we saw each other. I hope he will be laid to rest near Edna, where he brought her flowers weekly.

Peace to Hal from whom I have fond memories of his warm smile, happy jokes and love for his family. Peace to all.Jean hi
We are glad to have met Hal. We’re grateful for his service to our country and his fine example of loving devotion to his wife and family. May he rest in peace.
Hi Tim and Diane,
So sorry to hear about your Dad. I am thinking about you and want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sorry to hear of Harold’s passing. I only met him a few times, but he was such a kind and warm person. I know you will miss his presence and his influence in your lives.
I am so sorry for your loss Tim, Tom and your families. I loved both he and your mom. Uncle Harold was always so very kind to me. The last time I saw him was in Danville at a Walmart. He said if he still lived there he would have let my son and I stay with him. I hope to see them in glory.
Tim and Tom like my sister said I am sorry for your loss. I was named after your Dad as the middle name. We all as relatives miss and love all the people that have gone on before us. In the same year as your Father the Gordon family lost my brother and sister, Charles and Edith, your Aunt and Uncle and my wife and I lost our Granddaughter. And in January we lost our other brother Richard and our youngest sister Glenda. I thought you might want to hear of the Gordon family as our Mother Glendora was your Father’s sister. Sorry for being late to enter in the guest book, but I just heard from my sister Janet about your dad passing.
