Obituary
Harold R. Erickson, 83 of Seattle, Washington
Harold entered his eternal home on March 23, 2020. He was born and raised in Minnesota, but later moved to Seattle, which then became his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister-in-law, one niece, one nephew, and many others who went on before. Another sister-in-law followed a few days later.
After retiring from Boeing Aircraft, Harold visited nursing homes and helped out at a mission. He took great pride in caring for the many roses that adorned his yard. A huge thank you to Columbia Lutheran Home and Providence Hospice who provided loving care for Harold for several months.
He is survived by two sisters, many nieces and nephews, friends, and a special cat Betsy.
Harold requested no service be held. His final resting place on earth is Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
John 5:24
Very truly I tell you; whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent me, has eternal life, and will not be judged, but has crossed over from death to life.
Harold was such a generous man, always reaching out to help others. He will be missed by many.
IHarold and I attended Burien Evangelical Church together for several years.Often Harold and pastor Walt were on their knees praying before Sunday worship.. Praying for God to work through them. Harold arranged for bibles and care packages to children in Mexico on several occasions. He served the men’s shelter at the Union Gospel Mission in Seattle, where he performed chapel services once a month for over 30 years. On occasion 1 would attend these services. There was a waiting room where Harold would be on his knees praying for God’s Spirit to work through him. During the service the power of the Holy Spirit fell upon us.
11 Men came forward. Harold laid his hands on them. They received Jesus.
Harold supported area nursing homes. I attended a couple of times. He was there to preach the good news of Jesus and encourage the people living there.
Harold would choose to serve the Lord gently and quietly without wanting any recognition. Harold gave God all the glory.
I miss you my friend. Rest in peace..
