Harriet A. Luman Oyen

Harriet was born March 5, 1924, in Portland, Oregon, and died October 25, 2013 in Des Moines, WA at the age of 89. 

Harriet was educated in Portland Public Schools, King Business College in Chicago, Ill, and San Francisco State University.  She always wanted to be a teacher – An avid bowler, she was a Junior Bowling Instructor for many years at Olympic Bowl in Burien, WA.  She retired from employment with The Boeing Company in 1987.  After a debilitating stroke, she resided at Judson Park Health Center in Des Moines, WA for many years.  Harriet and her husband Alden were long time members of Glendale Evangelical Lutheran Church in Burien, WA. 

She was pre-deceased by her Mother Georgia Baker, her two sisters, Wilma Jorgensen and Muriel Lovegren; and her beloved husband Alden M. Oyen.  Harriet is survived by:  Brother Donald E. Baker, Laurel, MD; Son, James T. Luman and wife Trudy of Summerfield, NC;  Daughter Joan C. Ribich and husband Mark of Auburn, WA;  Son John S. Luman and wife Jeannie of Melbourne, FL;  Daughter Jill C. Curtis and husband Gary of Tacoma, WA; twelve Grandchildren and twenty-seven Great-Grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 30th at 3:00pm at Glendale Lutheran Church, 13455 2nd Ave. SW, Burien, WA 98146.  Memorial donations may be made to the church in Harriet’s name.
