Born February 8, 1923 in Yakima, WA. Passed away February 28, 2005 in Seattle, WA. Harry became the first black bus driver for Seattle Transit Metro following his service in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He retired from Metro after 36 years in 1986. Harry was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Linda; daughter, Cynthia Simon; sons, Harry, Jr., Russell and Kirk Winston; brother, Melvin P. Winston; 11 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. According to his wishes, Harry will by cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
