Obituary
Harry L. Locke
Sept. 20, 1937 – Nov. 30, 2011
Harry passed away peacefully with his wife by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Eileen, children, Betsy (Steve) Suyama, Ricky (Jessica) Locke, and grandchildren, Taylor, Grant, Grace, Jalen, and Max. Sisters, Lum Lai Ming and Lin Rui Fang, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Harry was born in Canton, China and immigrated to the United States as a young boy. He graduated from Garfield High School, and attended Edison Technical School to learn his trade as a draftsman that landed him a job at Boeing where he enjoyed a 36 year career. Harry was a quiet, reserved, loyal, and hard working man, and his true passion lay in his love for his family. Harry met his lifelong love Eileen on a blind date and they were married for nearly 50 years. Together they realized their dreams through the building of their home, and lovingly raising their children, and grandchildren. Even when times were financially tough, he was always very generous with his help to family and friends. During his years of retirement, he enjoyed travelling with Eileen and their friends, playing mah jong, meeting friends for coffee, cheering for Seattle sports teams, and cooking for his family. A special thank you to all his wonderful physicians and their medical team, and the caregivers at Providence and Evergreen Hospice.
A Celebration of Life for Harry will be held Saturday December 10th between 11am-2pm at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant Banquet Hall. 4208 Rainier Ave. So. Seattle, WA. 98118. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harry’s memory to Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 13240 NE 20th St. Suite 19A. Bellevue, WA. 98005. Providence Hospice of Seattle, 425 Pontius Ave. N. Uncle Harry, we will miss you. Your smile and kindness will forever be with us.
I worked at Boeing with Harry in 1988-90 and enjoyed many interesting conversations with him. My father was also born in Canton and came to the U.S. as a young boy, and my conversations with Harry about his experiences were always insightful and prompted a number of interesting conversations with my own father about his own experiences. I thank Harry for that. I remember him as an easy going person, funny, pleasant to be around and very much dedicated to his family. He will be missed.

You’ve always been kind and welcomed me (and Ricky’s other rowdy friends) to your home, even thou all we do and party down stairs. Missed those old days where you’d come down and tell us to keep it down :-).
Very Grateful seeing you and chatted few weeks ago. I will always treasure that. RIP, smile upon us and watch over us.
