Harry Roth
Obituary
Harry C. Roth ascended to Glory on July 7, 2023. He was born November 15, 1929 along with his sister Helen Sollman (d. 2022), at Barnes Hospital St Louis, MO. Son of Franz and Anna Roth both of whom preceded him in death. Harry loved our Lord Jesus Christ and lived his life as a testament to his faith in the gift of salvation.
He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he was immediately drafted into the US Army Signal Corps and served primarily at Yuma Test Station, AZ. He worked 5 years for the Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville, Indiana in domestic refrigerator product design followed by 31 years at the Boeing Company, Seattle, WA primarily in spacecraft & missile electrical systems design.
In 1953 he married Michal Bender in Evansville, IN (d. 1987), where they both grew up, they had 4 children: Alexa Vasquez (Jesus), Yvonne Powers (Dan), Celeste Pace (Greg) and Brian Roth (Tammie). There are 9 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren from this union. In 1988 Harry married Dolores Panning Malkow (d. 2003), she brought to the marriage 4 children from her late husband, Rev. H. John Malkow: Stephanie Hagen, Timothy Malkow, Nathan Malkow, and Nicholas Malkow; along with 5 Step Grandchildren and 5 Step Great Grandchildren. In 2005 Harry married Ruth Moeller Buethe (d. 2018). She brought 3 children into the marriage from her late husband, Norwin Buethe: Daniel Buethe, Theodore Buethe and Patricia Ellerby along with 6 Step Grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He enjoyed working with his hands, camping, and hiking in Germany, Austria, and Italy, as well as all over the United States.
Harry was an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Federal Way, WA, for 66 years where he held every position over that time except treasurer. He was heavily involved with building the second worship center and the multi-purpose building, as well as troubleshooting and repair whenever needed. He was also very involved in the Braille Book ministry there.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lutheran Braille Workers in Yucaipa, California or Concordia Christian Academy in Tacoma, Washington, or your favorite charity.
