Milton, Washington – Harry (aka Henry) was preceded in death by his lovely wife Jane in 2021 and he missed her terribly. He was the father of Ione FitzGerald, Hank (Paula) FitzGerald, and Noel (Wendy) Fitzgerald and adoring grandpa to Kaitlin and Henry III. Harry is also survived by adoptive family member Ronald (Elaine) Burrows. Harry was preceded in death by his brother Jim FitzGerald and survived by his sister Peggy Speir.
Harry was a native New Yorker, but a resident of the Northwest for 38 years. Harry was also a long-time volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and for St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way. Harry also served as an Administrative Volunteer with the Federal Way Fire Department. Harry would appreciate donations in lieu of flowers in his name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (https://stmartinoftoursfife.com/giving/online-giving).
Harry served 4-years with honor for the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, receiving the Korean Campaign Medal and Army Occupation Medal (Germany). After marriage, he worked in upstate New York briefly, followed by several years with Ex-Cello-O Corporation, the company credited with inventing the machine tools that make milk cartons. Harry’s job caused him to move with his family to New Jersey, Michigan, and Illinois, with the children primarily growing up in Wixom, Michigan. Harry finished off his career at Boeing Computer Services as a Manager before retiring in 1995. Harry will be buried with full military honors at Mt Tahoma National Cemetery, further details below.
