In Loving Memory of Helen Durant Bacarro
On May 11th, 1928 Helen was born to Allen and Chaney Glover in Natchitoches Louisiana. She was the sixth of seven children. At the age of 14, she moved to Seattle where she lived for the rest of her life.
She graduated from Garfield High School and went on to be a nurse. After her nursing career, she went to school for welding. She decided that it wasn’t for her and chose to open an Adult Family Home until she retired.
Helen had many interests and loved to laugh and have a good time. She had a smile that lit up the room. Helen took great pride in her home. She loved gardening, reading, music, poetry, travel, and clothes. She was quite the fashionista. She was loved and respected by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Helen departed this life on November 13th, 2017 at 6:40 pm surrounded by her loved ones. As eloquently stated by her Great Grandson Antar “She’s in a better place” She leaves to celebrate her life her sister Allen Bea Doty; her four remaining children Saundra Durant (Dupuis), Debra Durant, Cheryl Durant, and Nathaniel Durant; Nieces and Nephews; several Grandchildren and Great Grand Children. She was preceded in passing by her Loving Son Forrest Durant Jr and Loving Grandson, Laban Dupuis.
Helen was a loving, caring, and a giving mother. She was the best Mother and friend a person could have.
A Treasure! Mother, we Love You!

I am so very sorry to read of the loss of your dear loved one. It is in times like these that I want to share the comfort I was given. The promise can be found at Revelation 21:3,4. There we know that soon suffering will end. It is my hope your family find the strength to endure during the days ahead.

We pray with you as we say goodbye to your grandmother, Nathan, Chloe and Chaney. We will remember her sweet smile and friendliness. She is the only townmate of Dad (yes, from Natchitoches) that we have met here in Seattle!

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Our families grew up together and I have great memories of our mothers sitting at the table having a good time.
