Obituary

Helen Priscilla Sturgeon passed away on September 24th within a week of her 90th birthday.  She was born September 18, 1926 in Seattle to John Richard Hoyle and Claire Elise Hoyle.  She was the oldest of 5 children, brothers, Jack, Frank, and Robert, and sister Ethel.

 She graduated from Franklin High School.  While attending the University of Washington she worked as a waitress.  Her major was interior decoration/design which remained a passion in her life. 

 She married John Dahl, Jr. and had a daughter Karen.  After moving into their first home, she went to work at Sears as a catalogue order filler and became the trainer.  She enjoyed her job and a few women remained lifelong friends.  While taking modeling classes, she actually appeared in the Sears catalogue.

 Later after a divorce she married Jacob Sturgeon.  They owned a business which changed from selling and fixing TV’s to appliances, antique furniture and collectibles, and musical instruments.

 Survivors are her brothers, Jack, Frank and wife Gayle, Robert, and sister Ethel, daughter Karen and husband Don, grandchildren, Lisa, Chris and wife Lilia and daughter Stephanie.  This includes an extensive family of nieces and nephews and their families.

 A memorial celebration was held at Unity Church of Lynnwood.
