We will miss our beloved angel, Helon, the best mother in the entire world!!
Helon was my cousin. Her mother was my Aunt June and the sister of my father, Ceburn
Cylvester Crosswell. I first met
Helon when whe was a beautiful teenager and I was the country
cousin from Oklahoma on one
of several trips with my family to
visit the California relatives. Over the years I have been able to visit Helon in California and and more recently in Olka. However most of our contact was by phone, letter and of course email. Helon, the beautiful teenager
became the beautiful wife, mother, grandmother , greatgrandmother and friend to
all. She somehow kept up with
all relatives wherever they were.
Helon was a beautiful soul in so
many ways.
I know all of her family and her many friends will miss her personal presense, love and wisdom. She did leave us all with wonderful memories and
continues to live in our hearts
even as she is with God, Danny
and all other loved ones who
were waiting on the other side.
Aunt Helon made the best Bunny cakes! Wish I could have been closer to visit more and know alllll my cousins, but the memories that I do have I’ll never forget! Now she can meet my Jason. Love to all, Sharron
i had the pleasure of meeting Helon about 5 years ago through Maryanne. although i did not know her well, her family is a living tribute to the wonderful mother she was. my thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ward family. Terri Bradford
I was an Avon customer of Helon’s for several years. She was a lovely, helpful kind person and I always enjoyed visiting with her and Dan when he was living. I am so sorry for your loss.
All my prayers go out to all you kids that I got to know pretty well over the last few years, but I still can’t keep all your names straight. To Helon I don’t know what I would have done without her help with mom or mama to you.
I am sure Helon is where she wants to be now with my big brother, your dad and Helons love.
God bless you all
Uncle Keith
We first met Helon when her daughter Patty married our son, Kevin. She was very dedicated to her family and her Avon career. I had to rely on her many times to get my favorite cream and she always had some on hand. She will be missed by her family and friends, but will always be remembered. Our deepest sympathy to her family.

To all her loved ones:
Helon was full of smiles and
was such a generous person.
What a good cook too—she will always be with us–always
We are so thankful to have had
her with us.
Love, Mona
My Grandma was the most special grandma in the world. She was kind, loving, and forgiving. She had so much love to give. It always amazed me that even with such a LARGE family, she made each and every one of us feel special. I am so thankful that I was fortunate to have such a beautiful angel for My Grandma.
Aunt Helon always reminded me of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. There is a song you all need to hear on the soundtrack “Finding Forrester” the movie, the title of the song “Over the rainbow/What a Wonderful World” performed by “Israel Kamakawiwo’ole”. Tell Aunt Helon to tell Mamaw and Papaw it won’t be long. Love Ya All! P.S. We ain’t in Kansas Toto
Heavens shining a little brighter…
Our condolences go out to the entire Ward family, you’ve been very blessed to have such a wonderful mother.
I just want to say thank you for the greatest gift I have ever been given, your children. Helon, you and your kids have been so much a part of my life I have no idea what I would do without them, thank you…And may we keep the family love together for generations to come…Love your adopted son…Keith
I was saddened to hear of Helon’s death. She had been my Avon lady for more than 10 years. Even though I had the convenience of ordering Avon from friends at work or at church, I always chose to give Helon my order. I last spoke with her the end of June when I placed an order. Normally, I used email to order from her, but she told me, when I called, that her computer was acting up. I am glad it did. It gave me one more chance to speak with her. She was such a kind woman, always caring for others. I can see why her family loved her so much. I feel blessed to have known her.
Helon was a good neighbor and friend for 13 years. We will miss her and the large family she shared with the neighborhood. One only needs to look in the faces of the many children and grandchildren to know she’s not gone at all. Rest well. Give our regards to Dan and don’t laugh too much at those of us who remain behind.
The Ganems
My deepest sympathies to the loved ones of Helon. She was my Daughter-in-law, Lisa, Grandma. She was one of the kindest ladies I have ever met…and she was a lady. I know she is in a good place now since her work here was done, and she was called home. And I’m positive when family and friend’s are finally called home, she’ll be there to greet you, with the warmth, love and open arms.
