In Loving Memory of Hideki Sekijima

Hideki Sekijima of Mercer Island died Oct 24, 2011. He was born in Seattle on Oct 18, 1921 to parents Ken and Yoshie (Hamashima) Sekijima. He attended Bailey Gatzert elementary and Garfield HS. During WWII he was interned in the Minidoka War Relocation Center in Jerome County, Idaho. After the war he married Constance Nishitani, recently celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary. He owned and operated Lamb Nurseries in Spokane for 55 years before retiring to the Seattle area. 
Hideki was a devoted husband, dedicated father and doting grandfather whose life revolved around family, church community, the Mariners and invariably, feasting with friends. He was a courageous and loyal Nisei who lived life with dignity, humor and grace. He will be dearly missed, but always remembered.
Hideki was predeceased by younger brothers, Mizuo and Haruto. He is survived by wife Constance, children Dale (Nancy Farr) and Sally, granddaughter Rebecca, sisters-in-law Toki Sekijima and Martha Nishitani, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
