Hisako Oki, age 94, passed away in Bellevue, WA on February 14, 2013.
Born on September 6, 1918 in San Mateo, CA, grew up in Hiroshima, Japan, lived in Los Angeles, CA and Heart Mt., WY before moving to Spokane, WA where she lived for over 65 years. Known for her exceptional talents in knitting, sewing, all handicrafts and cooking. She loved to go to the Casinos.
Survived by her children Frank Oki (Kim) – Seattle, James Oki (Nami) – Seattle; Grace Fukutomi (Ken) – Bellevue; Roy Oki – Spokane, 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Naoji Ishikuni (Japan) and sister, Tomoyo Kubota (California). Preceded by her late husband, Henry Asao Oki (1970).
Inurnment service to be in Spokane, WA – June 15, 2013. Place of inurnment – Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Arrangements by Bonney-Watson, Seattle, Washington
Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother – always giving and never expecting anything in return. Will always be remembered for her strength in times of adversity and for teaching her children the value of hard work and strong ethics.
RIP Grandma! Thank you for all your did for our family. Those delicious cookies, special handsewn items and all those smiles! You are deeply loved and missed already! We were truly blessed with you as our grandma! Hope you enjoyed Valentine’s day with Grandpa! Thank you for all the awesome memories! You are forever in my heart! Love you Grandma!
