Ildefonso ‘Ponching’ Calderon Merced, Sr.
Ponching was born January 25, 1922 in Cavite, Philippines to Apolonio and Maura ‘Ninay’ Calderon Merced. He passed away in the Philippines September 13, 2010.
Ponching served in the US Navy for 22 years, serving in two wars.
Ponching is survived by his sons Jorge Socorro Merced, Ildefonso Emilia Merced, Jr., Russell Elizabeth Merced, Roberto Nanette Merced, Allan Catherine Merced and Arthur Onkeo Merced, daughter Susan Ben Noche, 4 sisters, Gloria, Asuncion, Dolores, and Charito, 16 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Ponching was preceded in death by his wife Lucila in 2008, and son Reynaldo in 2002.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2010 from 5:00pm to 12:00am with a service at 8:00pm and a Prayer Service Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 3:00pm all at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac, WA 98188, 206 242-1787.
