Obituary
Jack died on Saturday after battling dementia and bladder cancer. After serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII, Jack then joined the Seattle Fire Department in 1946 retiring after 26 years of service. He subsequently worked 14 years for Highline Transportation Department. He and his wife Laurita then traveled the world and making 2 to 3 trips to Reno annually. A devoted husband, he adored his wife Laurita and she faithfully attended him during his illness. Jack enjoyed observing the kids and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He found delight in fishing, hunting, camping, and the outdoors. He is preceded in death by son Tony Popich and granddaughter Denise Colbert. He is survived by his beloved wife Laurita of 41 years, sons Barry, Cary, and Jay Colbert, daughter Laurie (Jamie) Copeland, son Joey (Mary Jo) Popich, several grandchildren and great grandchildren Jacob Lieurance, Mateo Popich, Dorien and Carmine Timmons.
Service to celebrate his life, Monday, May 20th at 10:30 A.M., Washington Memorial Bonney-Watson, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Seattle Medic One or Ronald McDonald House.
