Obituary

Jack Raymond Hartley, Sr., born in Seattle, WA and formerly of Federal Way, WA, passed away Feb 14, 2009. A graveside service will be held at Washington Memorial Park, Thursday at 1:00 PM. Jack was born on Aug 16, 1921. He was the son of the late Mr. Ray Mobbs and Mrs. Dora Edith Huber.

He served with the Merchant Marines for 12 yrs and on 18 different cargo ships during WW II and soon after was discharged. He then worked as a carpenter until he retired. He belonged to the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1797 and also Local 1708. He helped build Valhalla Elementery School and the old Kingdome in Seattle. He built many other bldgs and homes in our area, to include his own home on Star Lake.

He is survived by his son, Jack R. Hartley, Jr. and his step-daughters Junietta Milam and Pamela Shepherd.
