James Alexander Corondoni,74.
A resident of Federal Way, WA. Passed away on Tue May 27th, 2014 at his home after suffering for 3 months with stage 4 lung cancer. With Jim’s Strong Character and Sheer Strength, he stayed alive and active during the last month to be with family. Medical staff were amazed day by day with his persistence. Jim was born Sept 30th, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Alexander C. Corondoni & Martha A. Corondoni.
Jim grew up in Albuquerque, NM, then served in the US Marine Corps from 1956 – 1959, excelling in boxing and marksmanship. He was a champion boxer & marksman. Jim lived in So-Cal. for over 40 years. He was always a hard working & extremely business orientated. In his early business career, Jim has owned, operated, managed & supervised many business including national corporations. In his early business career he owned and operated several restaurants and held various upper management positions. Prior to retirement in 2009, with Jim’s last employer of over 20 years, he held such positions as Territorial Manger & Regional VP.Jim received quite a few awards from employers and community. After retiring, he moved to WA close to his family. Jim was a Mason 32nd Degree, & a Shriner. He was always so proud to be a Shiner. he enjoyed participating and giving his time for the community. He was a very moral and just man. He believed in doing what was right for everyone, and not what was just popular, or for him. Jim also enjoyed golf and movies. But, most of all, he loved to just be at home. His favorite snacks were hot coffee and sweets. Jim was a hard worker his whole life and he always provided for his family and others.
Jim will be missed by all family and friends, & is survived by his wife of over 30 years Gail Corondoni, his sons Alexander James Corondoni, Nicholas James Corondoni and his wife Jamie Corondoni and Chris James Corondoni; His daughter Carianne Corondoni Felix; His brother Chris Corondoni, his sister Mary Anne Layba and his six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. (Natalie, Arriana, Alexander, Melissa and her husband Aaron Soriano, Sophia Soriano and Aaron Soriano Junior and Michael and Isabelle Corondoni.
James Corondoni was very family originated he had a huge heart and always made you feel important. He had a way of talking with people and could ease your worries and pain through conversation. He was very social and truly loved by family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who had the pleasure of crossing his path, He had the ability to make any awkward situation into a comfortable one with his dry humor and wise jokes. Jim’s crisima made everyone like or love him, wreathe it be work or pleasure. People were always attracted to him.
Jim was a great dad and grand parent. He always attended Isabelle’s & Michael’s sports and school activities. He made it his duty to take his grandson Michael to karate. EVERY Saturday.
Jim always wanted to be with and know all of his grandchildren located in different states and also go back east. After retiring he planed to take a train trip and spend time with his whole family. He was glad he was able to see his grand son Alex in a foot ball game. and enjoyed spending time with everyone. He loved hearing about his grand-children and his great grand-children and there pictures..
The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 2nd 2014 at 10:30 am at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home at 1535 S.W. Dash Point Road Federal Way, WA. (253)-839-7317.
