Obituary
James Clark Brown Sr. passed away on September 21, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, Washington. He was 87 years old.
He was born to Robert Lee and Mary Jane Brown on November 22, 1923 in Mansfield, Ohio. He entered into the United States Navy in 1941, and served until 1945. He is a World War II Veteran and was stationed on the USS Spica, and USS California.
He married his wife of 68 years, Phyllis Mae Keeney on April 18, 1943. After his Naval service he worked as a construction electrician. They lived most of their lives in the Seattle area, where he enjoyed boating and fishing on Puget Sound. In 1988 they retired to Yuma, Arizona and made their way back to Des Moines, Washington in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Mae Brown; children, James Clark Brown Jr., Wilma Jane Bernthold, and Jerry Lee Brown; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor “Mert” Riemold, and Phyllis Jean Anderson.
Services will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. Friends of the deceased can contact family at (206) 650-5515.
