James Delbert Harrington, 91, died August 14, 2016 in his home surrounded by family. Jim was born on May 2, 1925 to Michael & Louise Harrington in Ellensburg, Washington.
The Harringtons moved to the Seattle area some years later. Jim graduated from Franklin High School in 1943 and was drafted by the Army the same year. He was overseas for 22 months. He fought at the battle of the bulge and came home in 1946.
Jim married Elaine Collins on April 23, 1949, they were married 67 years. They had 2 daughters, Cynthia and Susan.
Jim retired from the Seattle Fire department after 25 years of service. He was an ordained Deacon at The Community of Christ in Rainier Valley.
He is survived by his wife Elaine Harrington, daughters Cynthia and Susan (Joe), brother Kevin, grandchildren Jason (Christy), Jeff (Christel), Shannon (Pete), Jodi, Tara, and Cameron. Great grandchildren Eric, Olivia, Holden, and Elijah.
A memorial service will be held on August 27, 2016 at 2 pm at Community of Christ, 4820 South Morgan Street Seattle, WA 98118. Reception will follow.
