The family moved to Pacific Beach, CA in 1938.  He graduated from La Jolla High School.  His electrical career started as an inspector for San Diego County. He married Rene’ Flanders on May 29, 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada, after meeting at a company Christmas party.

In 1964, the family moved from El Cajon to Granite Falls, Minnesota and Jim started his own electrical contracting company, Falls Electric.  In 1984, Jim followed Russ to Seattle to start a new career as a union electrician.  After his retirement in December of 1996, he started another career with Eagle/Lowe’s Hardware, retiring at age 87.  He earned many accolades for his knowledge of the electrical industry and friendliness.

Jim was a collector of friends, never having met a stranger. He was always ready with a quick quip and a willing participant in a healthy conversation. In his spare time, Jim maintained a beautiful yard in Ballard and created the best looking garden at his condo in Edmonds.
