Obituary
James Myron Andrew passed away May 31, 2008 after a long illness. He was born in Lemmon, South Dakota on January 19, 1928 to Luther and Elsie Andrew. James spent many of his early years in Payette, Idaho. In response to the need for defense workers, Jim followed his father out to Seattle to work at Boeing on the war effort. During this period he met his wife, Betty, who was working for the University of Washington. He continued his employment at the Boeing Company for 41 years.
Even though he spent his entire career working on airplanes, his true love was cars. He knew the name of every car on the road. He spent many happy hours working with friends on their cars, as well as anyone else in the family who’s car needed a fix.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty; his children, Linda Andrew-Joyce and sons Steven and Alan. Jim is also survived by his brother, Amos Andrew, and sisters Alice Shosboek and Hazel Wheeler.
James will be interred in a private family ceremony to be followed by a celebration of his life at the family home.
Eleanor & I vividly remember our meeting with Betty & Jim there in their house on one of our big trips out to the West Coast. He will be missed.
A father in law, mentor and a friend like no other person. He will be missed until we are friends again in Heaven and live forever.
