James “King James” Simms, age 78, passed away Friday, October 29th, 2004 in his home. Many loving relatives survive Jim: his sister-in-law, Phyllis Simms; nieces, Sally Larson and Carol Wolsey Dee; nephew, James A. Simms Jeannie; grand niece, Amy Larson; grand nephews, Eric Knutson Karen, Greg Knutson Vicki, Shawn Rogan and Jacob Simms Melanie. He is also survived by his business partner of 55 years, Eugene Everson. Jim’s mother, Elsie Simms; father, Alvin H. Simms; and brother, Alvin A. Simms, preceded him in death. King James was a lifelong resident and businessman of Des Moines and will be best remembered for his warm smile, many vibrant tales and an affection for a German Shepherd named Prince. A Memorial Service will be held on December 1, 2004 at 2:00 PM at St. Philomena Catholic Church, 1790 S. 222nd St., Des Moines, WA. Although I didn’t know him very long, I enjoyed the tales he told of his adventures in the Navy.
James was a very kind & thoughful person, and I’m sure he will be missed.
