Obituary

Jane C. Squires

Born August 16, 1914 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and passed away August 1, 2004, just missing her 90th birthday celebration. Jane and her parents Ernest and Ella Eubanks came to Seattle on the train in 1926, when it was a much wilder city than the East St. Louis she was used to. She graduated from Lincoln High School, and worked briefly before marrying and raising her family. Her interest in details was legendary among friends and family, and in another era, she might have been an actuary. She always marched to her to drum, and that drum never sounded before noon. She will be missed by her daughters Caroline Haggard and Janet Squires, son Steve Squires and wife Kathy, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandson. Her husband of nearly 60 years, C. Stanley Squires, died in 1995. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Daystar for the loving care they provided and the nursing support from Providence Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 14, 2004 at BONNEY-WATSON Parker Chapel 900 SW 146th St. Burien 206 244-2320. Remembrances may be made to KCTS Public Television or Providence Hospice.

To the Squires family

We are sorry to hear of your loss. Jane and the card club were always mentioned favorably by our mother, Ethel. Our thoughts are with you.

Sincerely,

The Barton family
