Obituary
Jane Tilden McKinney passed away peacefully during the early morning hours July 7, 2010 at the age of 75, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Jane was born October 5, 1934 in Los Angeles CA to Wilbur and Marian Mallalieu, the first of two daughters. After graduating from Glens Falls High School NY, Jane attended Green Mountain Junior College, then transferred to Columbia University in New York City and graduated from their Nursing program class of 1958. While working as a visiting nurse in the big city, Jane met Jay McKinney and they married April 22, 1961. When Jay got a job with Boeing, the couple moved to Seattle, raising their three children in the Sea-Tac area. Jay passed away June 23, 2000. Jane is survived by her sister, Anne Ingraham of Sea-Tac, WA, daughter Grace Jones Ty of Burbank, WA, son David McKinney Duane of Seattle, WA, and daughter Sarah Cunningham Chris of Kent, WA, along with nine grandchildren. Jane’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Wesley Homes in both Des Moines and Lea Hill for the wonderful service and care of Jane. Private services to be held at Washington Memorial in Sea-Tac.
I had an opportunity to get to know Jane through Quota Intl when I offered to drive Jane to our meetings. She shared a lot about her life and the family that she loved so much. On one trip home from our meeting in a surprise snow storm, Jane with alzheimers, was the voice of reason and calm as I freaked out trying to get us home around the road closures and icy roads. She just kept saying “go slow and easy and we wont have any problems” She was right! I really enjoyed getting to know Jane and was very happy to make that decision to give Jane a ride to our meetings.
God bless you, Jane.
In Quota love, Joan Myser
Jane was a good friend of Roland and myself. Whenever we needed medical help, she was the first person that we called. She always was willing to help us. Our world was a better place with her in it.
We’ll remember her with love, especially because she was the mom of a wonderful girl who is now our daughter-in-law, Sarah. Pam Cunningham
