Janet Rosina Adkins, 72, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, was called to her eternal resting place on May 23, 2020. She entered this world on April 6, 1948 in Birmingham, England, born to John and Dorothy Rowland.

Janet spent her early years growing up in Birmingham until her parents moved to Banbury, England when she was just 13 years old. She finished her schooling in Banbury and joined the work force as an IBM key punch operator at General Foods Ltd in Banbury. In 1967, at age nineteen she met her future husband Larry Adkins, a United States Airman stationed at an airbase near Banbury. The two were married a year later. They moved to California in 1970.

She did volunteer work as a Teacher’s Aide at her sons school, was a Team Mom on her boys baseball and soccer teams, was a Sunday School teacher, and was a faithful servant at her church. She warmed the lives of countless newborn children through her donations of personally crocheted baby blankets. All this in addition to being a devoted wife, mother and friend.

She is survived by her husband Larry Adkins, her three sons Darren, Michael and Christopher, her two daughters-in-law Tabitha and Wendy, her two grandsons Aaron and Noah, her sister Valerie Jones and brother-in-law Brian Jones, her brother John Rowland and a number of nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces and a great-great grand nephew.

She has gone to be with the Lord, but is ever present in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her.

Janet will be interred at the Tahoma National Cemetery on June 2, 2020. It will be a small Funeral Service due to Covid-19 restrictions. A memorial service will be held at Christ’s Church, 941 S. Dash Point Road, Federal Way, WA 98003, on July 18, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
