Obituary
Janet Gail Walters, passed away on January 30th, 2025, in Seattle, Washington at the age of 80. She resided in the Seattle area her entire life in this beautiful city she loved so dearly.
Jan met the love of her life, Doug, at a local dance, and together, they embarked on a beautiful journey. Their marriage, which lasted 56 wonderful years, was filled with laughter, love and the joy of raising their two daughters, Sandi and Debbie. They created a home in Seatac, a place filled with memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those who lived there.
Jan was known for her vibrant personality, particularly by her nieces and nephews, which affectionately referred to her as the “sassy” aunt. She had an unique ability to bring joy and laughter to any gathering, often opting for a cheeky remark instead of the usual “say cheese” during family photos. This spirit of fun and mischief is something that all who knew her will cherish.
In addition to her role as a loving mother, grandmother and aunt, Jan was an avid bowlerspending Tuesday nights with “the girls” in a league that brought her much joy and camaraderie. Her dedication to her friends
and family was evident in everything she did, and her caring nature touched the lives of many. She loved her three grandchildren. She attended their games, plays, anything they invited her to, she would be there with her camera. No one ever knew where those pictures ever ended up though.
Jan passed just a few months after the loss of her beloved Doug. It is a poignant reminder of the deep love they shared, and we can take comfort in knowing they are reunited once more.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie John Hansen and Sandi & Mike Enloe; and her grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan Hansen and Logan Enloe. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and love, and they will continue to honor her memory in their lives.
As we remember Jan, let us hold close the memories of her quick wit, her caring ways, and that unmistakable sparkle in her eyes. Her spirit will live in our hearts forever. You will be missed but never forgotten.
