My wife, Melissa, and I have been very appreciative of the time we were able to spend with January Her kindness made such an impression upon my life this year. Jan did something for me that I shall never forget. Knowing that my mother lives thousands of miles from hereMississippi to be exact and that I had not seen her for some time, Jan arranged for my mom to fly out and visit us this past Mother’s Day. What a surprise! I had just finished watching a Mariner’s game on Friday evening of Mother’s Day weekend. I was getting ready for bed. And as I walked from our Master Bath to our bedroom, there my mom was standing in our bedroom doorway. I thought I was seeing things at first. I could not believe the reality that my mom was here in my house. At the moment, I was not even thinking about whether or not I was fully dressed. Fortunately I was! I was also in shock to say the least. I discovered later that she was not the only one involved. Others in our church family not only knew about this, but helped her implement her secret plan. I just have to say, “Jan, you sure pulled one over on me! Thank you for the love and kindness you have shown to me and my family. You will be missed! It has been a real joy serving as your Pastor these past two and one-half years.”

To Jan’s family I would like to say thank you for the honor of officiating Jan’s funeral. You are in our prayers. If I can be of any help to any of you, please do not hesitate to call on me.
