Obituary

Jean L. Lundberg, age 94, passed away on January 13, 2019 in Seattle, WA. Jean was born May 27, 1924 in Franklin Township, Mower, Minnesota to Leo and Rena Tebay. She moved to Washington with her parents her senior year of high school in 1941. 

Jean married Otto Shimek February 23, 1944 and they had three boys; Robert (Bob), Gary and Richard. Otto passed away from a heart attack when the boys were young leaving Jean, a single mom who did everything she could to raise three boys by herself. 

In 1971 she married Bert Lundberg. Bert and Jean bowled on leagues, camped out at Lake Sawyer in summer time, took trips to Laughlin and Reno and spent time watching their grandchildren grow. January 2003 Bert passed away to Alzheimer’s.

 To Jean her family came first, she helped Richard raise his three children and then help her oldest granddaughter raise her twins. No matter what was going on Jean was always there for her family. She loved to get the family together for weekly dinners, hosted many many Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Easter dinners. 

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, brother, first husband Otto, second husband Bert and grandson Daniel She is survived by: Son Robert – wife Rita Grandson Mike – wife Andrea and their children Landon, Ryan and Jackson Granddaughter Lori – husband Trevor and their children Mia and Taylor Son Gary – wife Yvonne Granddaughter Barbra – husband Mike Grandson Brad – wife Heather and baby on the way Grandson Brian Son Richard Granddaughter Michelle – husband Mike and their children Kimmy, Matt and Ashley Grandson Jeff – wife Kim and child Nick Grandson David – wife Naomi Family will have a viewing on January 22, from 4-7 pm at Bonney-Watson then a grave site funeral on January 29, at Holyrood Catholic cemetery at 11 am “To know her once is to like her always”

I’m sending my belayed condolences to everyone. Jean led a full and long life and was obviously beloved by her family. I only met Jean once when I was little. She was sister to my Father Duane Tebay.
