To Jeanne’s Family —

As a member of Jeanne’s “other” family — the Eagles Auxiliary #1, I’d like to express our sincere condolences on her passing. I know that you all will miss her, but we sure will miss her also. Though she hadn’t been coming to meetings real regularly in the past couple of years, please be assured that her spitit was always thought of there. We will definately miss her beautiful ability for decorating for the Anniversary and special celebrations. We will also miss her sure spirit of urging along those that were just a little skeptical about stepping out — she would always say “Go ahead — you can do it!!!” It will not be the same without her. I certainly look forward to seeing her again “Where Eagles Fly”.

Don, Stephanie,Philip, Ricky, family and friends,

It is now 8:50 PM Saturday night in Westport, County Mayo, Ireland. We are sitting in front of a brilliant fire talking about Jeanne. We remember when she and Don came over to Ireland, for our wedding five years ago and the great time we had and how special it was for us to have them here. Jeanne and Carmel got along great. Carmel even did Jeanne’s hair the morning of the our wedding. Meeting Jeanne for the first time in Seattle was nerve racking for Carmel, it was like meeting the future mother in law. Jeanne made Carmel feel at ease and welcome to the Devitte family. My memories of Jeanne go back to the late 1950’s when I used to sneak under the table and pinch her on the butt, I continued this practice up until my wedding five years ago, what I would give to be able to pinch her once more and hear her say “KEVIN! STOP THAT!” I feel, in my heart, that Jeanne, wherever she is, misses us just as much as we miss her. We each have memories, different memories of Jeanne, mine are all good one’s. So at one o’clock your time nine o’clock our time we will toast Jeanne with a shot of whiskey and a few tears.

Slainte,

Kevin and Carmel

PS. to Jeanne,we loved you very much.

Phil, Ellen & Devitte family,

We heard thru Bill the awful news. Our deepest condolences on this great loss. Your Mom was really a wonderful lady, very full of life & a contagious spirit. She seemed so well when we were up there this summer, makes this all the more shocking. I will always remember how tolerant & in good humor & spirits she dealt with us during our ‘summer band’ practices at her house! She was very special & we’ll all really miss her. Our thoughts & prayers are with your family.

Our love & best wishes,

Frank & Andrea

My aunt Jeanne was the coolest red headed person I have ever known. I am honored that she was my godmother. She is probably cooking her great spaghetti in heaven right now. My condolences to Uncle Don, Stephenie, Phil, and Rick.

I’ll miss sending mutual greetings to my birthday girl. Sorry I cannot be there to pay my respects. I am at Seattle Medical & Rehabilitation facility to get stronger to return home. Have been in the hospital since Dec 10th with heart and lung problems. Sorry about Jeanne. She was a good friend and a special lady.

My prayers are with the Devitte family.

I loved going to visit the Devitte at their beautiful home on the lake. My favorite part was the long staircase. I was quit the moviestar! Jeanne would alway smile at me with a wink. Her fiery red hair was always in place.

Love, Sherry
