Joan Korum Connelly
Born October 27, 1931, Passed December 13, 2013.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, friend and was known as “Grambo” to her grandchildren. “Faith, Family, Friends, and Forgiveness” were her guiding lights. Joan took a great adventure after graduating as valedictorian at Deer Creek High School in Deer Creek, Minnesota, moving to the West Coast where she met and married, Herbert Connelly of Nashville, Tennessee. She resided for a short time with her new husband in San Diego, then moved to Seattle where they began their new life and raised their two sons.
Born in Henning, Minnesota to Thorvald W. and Christine Schmidt Korum, she is survived by her sons Marc (Susanne) and John, and granddaughters Chrystie and Quinn, brother Willis, and preceded in death by husband Herbert and sister Arlene.
Angels watched over her and those she loved.
Joan will be inurned next to her husband Herbert at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA at 11:45 am January 30., 2014.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army.
