Obituary
Jo Anna passed away from this life on May 1, 2013 at her home in SeaTac, WA. Jo Anna was born on March 16, 1956 in the city of San Francisco. She was the fifth child born to Mamerto Venzon Ilumin and Connie Gratol Ilumin.
Jo Anna spent the first 7 years of her life in San Francisco and attended Grattan Elementary School. In 1963, the family moved to Daly City, just south of San Francisco. There, she attended Woodrow Wilson and Jefferson Elementary, Colma Intermediate and Jefferson High School.
After graduating from high school, Jo Anna attended City College of San Francisco where she earned an Associates of Arts degree in business administration. With diploma in hand, she began her professional life in various business sectors, among them Hitachi Corporation, as an executive administrator.
During her college years, Jo Anna became involved in many community activities that served the needs of children and their families. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Leonard Luna, a co-founder of a Filipino dance company based in San Francisco.
Jo Anna and Leonard married on July 20, 1985 and have three children, Leonard, Jr., Joel and Alyssa. In 1992, they moved from San Francisco, CA. to Pacifica, CA, and then to Seattle, WA in 1998.
Jo Anna opened her heart as well as her home to many of the friends of her children, children at church as well as any child in need.
She was the cornerstone to her family; she was the beloved wife to her husband, Leonard, devoted and loving mother to their 3 children, Leonard Jr., Joel and Alyssa. Jo Anna was a loving daughter and compassionate caretaker for her mother, Connie Ilumin , and caring and loving youngest sister to her siblings, Robert Ilumin, Rena Ilumin, Ed Ilumin & David Ilumin.
She will be greatly missed by all her family from California to Washington and beyond.

I hope you all know how much Joanna touched my Heart, She made my day every time she came in. Always asking me how are you Mike, and I knew it was a question from her heart and she really cared about the answer. Prayers to you all ,find the strength in the wonderful family you are.
My deepest sympathy goes out to the Luna and Illumin families . May your sorrow be softened by the sweet cherished memories of her beautiful spirit as a wife mom sister daughter and friend. My thoughts are prayers are with you.
When I heard the news I didn’t want to believe it. Joanna you will be missed so much. You were such a caring person. I loved seeing you everyday. You were there to listen when I wanted to talk. You have an amazing family and I am glad I got to know you. RIP Joanna. I wish I could be there Wednesday. I will definitely be thinking of you.
I wish I never lost touch with my cousins. From the house on Holloway in SF to Manor Dr. in Pacifica times spent with Leonard, Jojo and Alyssa are some of the fondest memories of my life. I remember Uncle Leonard knew basketball and loved Star Trek..And Auntie Joanna was old school, couldn’t leave the table til your plate was clean. I miss the family so much. I know you’re in a better place Auntie.
