Obituary
Joanna Margaret McNEW ”You are the sunshine of our lives …” our loving, funny, generous, loyal and courageous friend, Mother, sister, auntie, Grandma — our Joanna. She was born in Wenatchee, Washington, December 15th 1931, moving to the Seattle area in 1951. She lived an extremely full and joyous life. Beyond her prideful success in raising a wonderful, loving family of eight children she nurtured and cared for 19 grand and great-grand children, was a bookkeeper for nearly 50 years, while also giving time to her church, AA and other causes she truly believed in. She loved the outdoors – camping in the mountains, trips to the ocean & local lakes, gardening, her music, books and movies. Her most precious hobby was her Seattle Mariners. No team has ever had such a fan. She ”loved her boys” with Edgar being her favorite. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy D. McNew and is survived by her children Dan Graham, Linda Matthews, Scott Graham Sherry, Janice Barrett Kate, Janet Mader Paul, Richard Graham Tracey, Maryanne Falcone & Gary Graham Michelle, 19 grandchildren, Matt Rohde, Kristi Fisher, Jeff Fanning, Evan Cox, Travis Myers, Lynne Marie Nichols, Michael Graham, Ryan, Keigher & Joshua Hill, Evan & Celeste Mader, JJ, Karli & Kassi Iseman, Anthony & Daniel Falcone, Dustin & Alex Graham; 5 great-grandchildren Melissa & Nick Fisher, Logan Fanning, Cyrus Graham, Annika Myers, sisters Janice Burke & Dorothy Bush, many nieces, nephews, cousins and of course, many, many friends. I truly enjoyed Joanna, I enjoyed taking care of her, She always said Thank you, and every weekend when I came to help her she was always glad to see me and that made me feel good. Thank you to the family for letting me know her.
Joanna and I shared many good times together. We used to count Fed Ex trucks while driving, now I think of her whenever I see their trucks. I will never forget her and she will be missed. Go Mariners. Shirley
