Jo (or “Mama Jo” as referred by many) retired from The Athletic Department Tubby Graves Building (1982-1998) U of W. Jo often expressed those were “the best of times”. She absolutely loved working there and loved the memories she made there and shared those stories with the ones she loved. Jo was a Husky for life. If you knew Jo, you would remember her personality and her incredibly infectious laugh. When she laughed, you couldn’t help but laugh with her.
During football season, everyone knew not to call during a Husky game, and never to call on Sundays because Jo would be watching football. She loved animals and enjoyed traveling, especially to Cannon Beach. Jo was extremely proud of her Italian and Norwegian heritage. Growing up, she spent a lot of time with her grandparents on both sides. Jo was considered the family Matriarch and loved her family very much. Jo will be greatly missed but definitely never forgotten by those who called her Mom/Mama Jo.
